Strategic Planning & Facilitation
Since 2008, Confluence has provided strategic communications and outreach planning to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. This work has included supporting the development and growth of buildings-related programs such as Buildng America, Home Energy Score, Home Performance with Energy Star, Solar Decathlon, and Zero Energy Ready Homes.
in 2024, Confluence provided stakeholder and community engagement and outreach support as the TCMC developed a model Home Energy Score policy, and a home electrification incentive program. This included strategic outreach planning, and extensive facilitation of 1:1 discussions, online surveys, and focus groups. The work provided much needed stakeholder input during program development.
Confluence facilitated Executive Committee (EC) Workshops for the Western Interstate Hydrogen Hub (WISHH) during its formation and application for funding to the U.S. Department of Energy. Workshops included governors’ appointees, advisors, and staff, along with private industry and academia. In addition , Confluence provided strategic stakeholder engagement and communications services.
Multimedia Content Development
Confluence provides multimedia content development and project management services for continuing education an training courses, and large editorial projects.
Confluence designed and built the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Virtual Village to showcase the competition to the world. This rich multimedia experience has been visited by hundreds of thousands, and was the first of its kind.
Confluence has developed a wide variety of material for the Colorado Energy Office, including brochures, video content, and the Governor’s Climate Action Website.
Event & Conference Management
From 2017 - 2023, Confluence provided full service program and event management for Go Code Colorado, an initiative of the Colorado Secretary of State. Annually, our team planned and executed this multi-event, hybrid competition program. Our work included planning and managing dozens of small and large events per year, across the state of Colorado and often concurrent. We managed all of the associated budgeting, communications, community engagement, and sponsorship management. The program was eliminated by legislature in 2023.
In 2024, Confluence planned and executed the Oregon Talent Summit, an initiative of the Oregon State Higher Education Coordinating Commission’s Workforce & Talent Development Board. The event, held at the Salem, OR convention center, hosted 500 people across five themed content tracks. Confluence provided full service event management, including facilitation of the conference planning working group, communications material development, venue evaluation and management, registration, budgeting, and attendee and presenter communications.
In 2021, Confluence managed the first virtual Climate Summit for the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner. Intended to be an in-person event for 200 people, it turned into a pandemic virtual event for more than 1,000 attendees, and a strategic communications and education campaign. Confluence provided full service event planning and management, including sourcing high level speakers. The event was a resounding success, repeated in 2022 before the office discontinued the event due to political scrutiny.
Stakeholder & Sponsorship Program Management
Since 2016, Confluence has held the role of Sponsorship Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon, a collegiate competition focused on innovation in building energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and overall building performance.
Each year, Confluence develops this robust cash sponsorship program, recruits and secures sponsors, and manages and fulfills sponsorships.
Since 2008, Confluence has provided stakeholder engagement planning and management to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy -Residential Buildings Program with the team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Programs include Building America, Home Energy Score, and the Zero Energy Ready Homes Program.
This work includes planning and internal management support, public engagement, and support of public-private partnership management.
Confluence provides stakeholder engagement support to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy - Residential Buildings Program with the team at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
Programs include Energy Skilled, Home Improvement Expert, and the Building America Solution and Building Science Education Solution Center.
