Outreach, communications, and business development services
In May of 2009, Vice President Biden asked the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) to develop strategies to expand green job opportunities and reduce our nation’s energy use by improving home energy efficiency. CEQ’s activities resulted in the Recovery Through Retrofit report, released in October of 2009. Recovery Through Retrofit identified key barriers to the growth of a strong home energy retrofit market, and solutions to overcome these barriers. The U.S. Department of Energy EERE and its National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) are developing the Home Energy Upgrades (HEU) to foster the growth of a high quality residential retrofit industry and a skilled and credentialed workforce, as called for in Recovery Through Retrofit. Confluence is pleased to be part of the team charged with providing outreach support to the HEU, as a subcontractor to NREL.
